Theropy South

TherapySouth is a therapist-owned, outpatient physical therapy practice that specializes in personalized, hands on care. Our primary goal is to help you return to all your normal activities and prevent future injuries from occurring. We promise to listen to you, communicate with you, and provide you with the tools you need to get better, and stay better.

We are excited about working with you and look forward to the opportunity to provide you with the highest quality care. We have 25 convenient locations throughout the greater Birmingham area, north central Alabama and southeastern Alabama (Auburn), as well as a location in Athens, GA, to serve you close to home and work.

 TherapySouth was founded in July 2006 by Steve Foster, PT. His vision was that TherapySouth would be a therapist-owned practice, specializing in "hands-on care, close to patient's home or work". Clinics placed in Central Alabama, Auburn and Athens, GA maintain an informal atmosphere that helps patients feel at home in their surroundings. Having 20 locations, allows patients to conveniently attend physical therapy two to three times per week to improve their daily functions. We know our patients names when they walk in the door of our clinics!

Clinical excellence is the foundation of our successful patient outcomes. Many of our therapists have advanced certification in orthopedic physical therapy, as well as other specialty areas including manual therapy, women's health, orthotics and hand therapy/occupational therapy.
Hundreds of physicians in Alabama and Georgia trust TherapySouth to care for their patients each day. We work with physicians, families, employers and insurance companies to ensure the best care possible for every patient.

The UAB School of Nursing offers innovative bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs. Among these are the state’s only PhD in Nursing degree and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree which offers BSN, MSN and Nurse Anesthesia Pathways, more than 15 specialty and subspecialty nurse practitioner tracks, dual degree options, advanced nursing executive majors in administration and informatics, and an Accelerated Master's in Nursing Pathway (AMNP) program for students who already have one degree. Some courses are taught completely in a distance-accessible format, where students can complete course requirements without traveling to the campus and some courses have online content combined with live, on-campus sessions.

The UAB School of Nursing offers students opportunities to learn and investigate with interprofessional faculty and student teams from nursing, medicine, dentistry, health professions, public health and optometry. Students and faculty have options for substantial  scholarships, fellowships and grant awards to support undergraduate and graduate study.

Through the school’s Pan American World Health Organization (PAHO)/World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Center for International Nursing and the Sparkman Center for Global Health, students and faculty are exposed to interdisciplinary clinical and research opportunities on UAB's campus and across the globe.
